Well actually it doesn't! Vince has just called, he's being sent to Edinburgh on the 8.30 flight this evening until Friday. As his small suitcase is at mine, he will collect a few items from his flat and make his way over to mine where we'll meet and I'll drive him to the airport. Hmmmm.... I seem to remember being a total wreck the last time I had to leave him at the airport.

I agree with Stella.
Don't let him leave for Edinbough on a bad note.
And whilst he's away send him little texts and emails to let him know how much you want him.
By the time he gets home he'll be eating out of the palm of your hand!!

Thank you both, common sense prevails!!
We did speak about it, calmly and Vince apologised as did I. Left him safely at the airport and received the following text as I drove back 'Just gone through to gate, gonna turn phone off. Thought I'd say I love you x' Arrhhh!! Can't wait 'til Friday now!
Thanks again!

Ok, chill, relax. Regardless of how you feel about last night, you don't want him to leave on a sour note today. Cos you'll only feel like crap and kick yourself for it all week.
So, this is what i would do. I honestly don't think that night was THAT big a deal. Remember he's only had to think about number one for years now - and being a man you can't expect him to change overnight! Also let's be fair - he did call you, and send some texts, and he was even going to cook dinner tonight. If he was a real bastard who wanted to treat you like a doormat he wouldn't have bothered getting in touch last night - he'd have just stayed out!
So today, when you see him - all I would say is, look you know i was cooking last night. Of course I don't mind you having a drink after work but next time please could you let me know a little more in advance? Or, come back at a reasonable hour if I have put the effort into cooking?
I get the feeling he's a nice guy who just made a bit of a misjudgement. so later on just say that, then give him a big hug and a kiss and say how much you're looking forward to seeing him on friday. Maybe make a joke of it and say you'll do the cooking but he'd better turn up on time and not miss his flight back!
